After nearly a year of organizing, we finally have a public hearing for LD1383. This important bill would require that Maine's State Pension divest from any corporations that contribute to genocide and human rights abuses, at home and abroad! Learn more about LD1383 here. Topics addressed will include information about attending school board meetings, speaking at school board meetings, and strategies for effective communication with your school board, with a focus on how to advocate for trans rights to your school board. In light of current events, the training will also discuss how to speak with your school board about what it is doing to protect students/teachers/staff from ICE.
